King First Song ‘Tu Mil Jaaye Toh’ to Release on Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st Birthday Today, November 2: Reports
Shah Rukh Khan turns 61 today, November 2, and his birthday is doubling as the next big milestone for his upcoming action thriller King. According to reports, the film’s first song, titled “Tu Mil Jaaye Toh”, is expected to arrive today, giving fans their first musical glimpse of one of the year’s most anticipated releases. Reports say Arijit Singh has lent his voice to the lead track, which Shah Rukh Khan himself has previously confirmed Singh would sing once final touches were complete. Some reports also link Ed Sheeran to the track, which would mark the global star’s first Bollywood song, though the makers had not issued a separate official announcement confirming the song or its exact format at the time of writing, so fans should treat the details as expected rather than confirmed until the release lands.
The birthday release also arrives amid a shake-up in the film’s music department. Composer Anirudh Ravichander, who delivered the successful album for Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, has reportedly stepped away from the full album and background score of King because of his packed schedule down South. He has, however, gifted the film’s theme track to Shah Rukh Khan as a mark of respect, and composer duo Sachin-Jigar have reportedly been brought on board to handle the remaining songs and the background score, reimagining Anirudh’s theme for the final score. Bollywood Hungama has also reported that T-Series has secured the exclusive global commercial music rights to King for 50 years.
King is directed by Siddharth Anand, who previously directed Shah Rukh Khan in Pathaan, and is backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan alongside his daughter Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi and Jaideep Ahlawat, and is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 24, 2026. The film has already been in the news this week after Shah Rukh Khan personally called Aditya Chopra before moving King’s overseas distribution to Phars Films. Here is the Filmverse take: turning a birthday into a music launch is classic Shah Rukh Khan event marketing, and it works because his birthday has become a fan event in itself. The real story, though, is the music handover. After Jawan, Anirudh’s sound became part of the SRK comeback template, so Sachin-Jigar inheriting his theme track rather than starting from scratch is a smart way to keep that continuity while bringing in a duo with a very different melodic sensibility. If “Tu Mil Jaaye Toh” lands today, it will set the tone for the entire Christmas campaign.
