Editorial Policy & Corrections

Filmverse is an editorially independent news publication. This page explains how we source, verify and correct our reporting, so readers know exactly what stands behind every article we publish.

How stories are sourced

Our stories begin with primary sources wherever possible: official announcements from production houses, studios and streaming platforms; statements issued by artistes, filmmakers or their representatives; and data from established trade trackers. Where a story originates in reporting by another publication, we cross-check it against at least one additional reliable source before publishing, and we credit our sources at the end of each article.

Rumours and unverified social-media claims are not published as fact. If a developing story cannot yet be confirmed, we either hold it or clearly mark what is confirmed and what is not.

Box-office figures

Box-office collections reported on Filmverse are compiled from trade trackers such as Sacnilk and are always labelled trade estimates. Trade estimates are compiled from theatre-level data and industry sources, and they may differ from the official figures announced by a film’s producers or distributors. Where official numbers are released later, we update our reporting to reflect them.

Reviews and ratings

Filmverse publishes review roundups that summarise the critical response to a film or series. Every score, rating and quotation in a roundup is attributed to the original critic or publication that published it. A roundup score is never presented as Filmverse’s own rating unless the article is explicitly marked as a Filmverse review.

Images, posters and trailers

Images, posters, stills and trailers used on Filmverse belong to their respective owners — the studios, production houses and platforms that created them. We use material released for publicity and editorial purposes only, and trailers are embedded from official channels wherever available. If you are a rights holder and believe material has been used incorrectly, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Corrections

We take accuracy seriously, but mistakes can happen. If you spot an error in any Filmverse article, write to feedback@filmverse.in with the article link and the correct information. Verified corrections are made to the article, and a short correction note is added to the article so readers can see what changed. Material errors are corrected as quickly as possible, normally within one working day of verification.

Sponsored content and independence

Filmverse does not publish paid news. Our editorial coverage — news, box-office reporting and review roundups — is never bought, and no payment influences what we cover or how we cover it. We clearly label any sponsored or promotional content, if carried, so that it is always distinguishable from our editorial reporting.

Questions about this policy can be sent to feedback@filmverse.in.
