Indian Films Releasing in the US & Canada This Week: Suriya’s Scene Leads the November 6 Weekend
Diwali week gives North America a Tamil-led weekend: Suriya’s Scene opens Friday, November 6, with Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman 2 beside it, while Ramayana plays its first full weekend. ZEE5 adds two Indian titles; Dilwali Diwali is live on Netflix.
IN THEATRES
Scene — Tamil, action comedy. Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan makes his Tamil debut with Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, a rogue cop who quits the force and is dragged back to chase his nemesis Eeswaran (Naslen); Nazriya Nazim co-stars. Worldwide November 6, after November 5 premieres: Prime Media distributes in the US (bookings open since October 27); York Cinemas brings the Canadian premiere to Toronto’s Woodside Cinemas. Worldwide opening-day advances have crossed ₹9.10 crore; Netflix holds the streaming rights.
Mookuthi Amman 2 — Tamil, devotional fantasy. Sundar C directs Nayanthara in dual roles as the goddess returns to protect a young prince, alongside Regina Cassandra, Duniya Vijay, Urvashi and Yogi Babu. It releases November 6 in five languages, with Canadian shows via York Cinemas; Tamil Nadu opening-day advances near ₹1 crore.
Ramayana: Part 1 — still the week’s biggest North American draw. Read Filmverse’s North America box-office report here and our Day 1 report here.
Also opening November 6: Malayalam thriller Disco (Canadian shows via York Cinemas), Telugu titles Mahasakthi and Summer Holidays, Kannada Bhavantara and Tamil comedy Moonwalk.
STREAMING
Dilwali Diwali — Netflix, November 5. The Hindi family drama is streaming now; details here.
Nooru Kodi Vaanavil — ZEE5, November 6. Tamil romantic drama starring Harish Kalyan and Siddhi Idnani, directed by Sasi.
Blind Game — ZEE5, November 4. Hindi suspense thriller starring Arjun Rampal and Priyamani: an IPS officer, suspicious events, a missing ₹5 crore. Directed by the late Sangeeth Sivan.
I’m Game — JioHotstar, November 6. Dulquer Salmaan leads this Malayalam action thriller — in Canada, where JioHotstar launched in September; no US launch yet. India-only: Haiwaan streams on SonyLIV from November 6, but SonyLIV does not operate in the US or Canada.
FILMVERSE TAKE
The theatrical bet is Tamil; streaming does the breadth work. Scene is best placed — the week’s only wide North American theatrical push from a South Indian star, a director with a proven comic-crime touch, and advances past ₹9 crore worldwide. Mookuthi Amman 2 is the family counterweight. The streaming split is the honest story of diaspora viewing in 2026: Netflix and ZEE5 travel with you, while JioHotstar and SonyLIV still stop at the border — check the service, not just the title.
Next week: Jailer 2 arrives on Prime Video in the US and Canada on November 12 — details here.
