Drishyam: The Conclusion Box Office: Ajay Devgn’s Thriller Crosses Rs 357 Crore, Eyes Rs 370 Crore Finish
Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion is in the final legs of its theatrical run, and the numbers now tell a clear story. The thriller drama collected an estimated Rs 1 crore on its fourth Monday, a 20 per cent drop from the previous Friday, taking its total to Rs 357 crore nett at the Indian box office. Directed by Abhishek Pathak and bankrolled by Panorama Studios, the film is now expected to close its domestic run at Rs 365 crore to Rs 370 crore nett.
The week-by-week breakdown shows where the film made its money. It opened with a massive first week of Rs 237.50 crore, followed by Rs 83.50 crore in week two. The third week added Rs 28 crore, and the fourth week has so far contributed Rs 8 crore, including Rs 1.25 crore on the fourth Friday, Rs 2.75 crore on the fourth Saturday, Rs 3 crore on the fourth Sunday and Rs 1 crore on the fourth Monday. The film’s opening-week performance had suggested a Rs 400 crore-plus finish in India, but the pace of the final weeks has brought the realistic target down to the Rs 365–370 crore range.
Even at that level, the film’s achievement is not in doubt. Drishyam: The Conclusion has emerged as the highest-grossing film of Ajay Devgn’s career, both in India and worldwide, and as the highest-grossing thriller drama of all time in India. The conclusion features a completely original story rather than a remake of the Malayalam film, and stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj alongside Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar.
Here is the Filmverse take: falling short of Rs 400 crore should not obscure what this run means. A dialogue-driven suspense film, closing a franchise rather than opening one, held its audience for four weeks in a festive season crowded with big releases — and it did so without a single slow-burn controversy or gimmick to keep it in the news. The Rs 365–370 crore finish still puts it among the biggest Hindi hits of the year, and it gives Panorama Studios a franchise finale that actually ended on the audience’s terms. The question for Devgn now is what a post-Drishyam career looks like when his biggest grosser is a story about an ordinary man, not a spectacle.
