Yash to Handle Ramayana’s Karnataka Distribution as Monster Mind Creations Launches Distribution Wing

Yash is expanding his involvement in Ramayana well beyond playing Ravana. Monster Mind Creations, the production banner founded by the actor, has launched a dedicated distribution wing that will oversee the film’s theatrical release across Karnataka. The move marks a significant step for the company as it ventures into large-scale theatrical distribution alongside its existing production work, and it places Yash’s own banner at the centre of the film’s Karnataka release strategy.

The logic of the arrangement is straightforward. Yash commands a substantial following in Karnataka, built across the KGF films, and a Karnataka release handled by his own team is expected to play an important role in shaping the film’s rollout in the state. The film is already showing early momentum there: according to Sacnilk’s October 26 advance-booking report, Ramayana has registered Rs 1.90 crore in day 1 advance gross from Karnataka across 415 shows, while Telangana, with far fewer shows, is reporting 62 percent occupancy and four housefull screenings in Hyderabad. Overall, the film’s India opening-day advance gross stands at Rs 11.78 crore including blocked seats, or Rs 9.56 crore excluding them, across 4,658 shows, with worldwide opening-day advance booking crossing $2 million.

The Karnataka arrangement completes a wider distribution map for the film. Sony Pictures is handling international distribution, while Dharma Productions will oversee the Hindi-speaking markets in North India. Telugu producer Dil Raju is associated with distribution across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Think Studios will handle Tamil Nadu, and E4 Entertainment, led by Mukesh Mehta, is responsible for the Kerala market. Jointly produced by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is being positioned as a large-scale theatrical experience, with visual effects and production design central to its presentation.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for Dangal and Chhichhore, Ramayana is a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Yash as Ravana, bringing together prominent actors from different film industries for a project mounted on an enormous scale. Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026, across multiple languages and premium large formats.

Here is the Filmverse take: actors turning distributors is not new, but an actor distributing his own film in his home state, ten days before release, is a different kind of bet. It tells exhibitors that the star is personally invested in how the film plays in Karnataka, not just in how it opens, and it gives the campaign a local champion who can push for screens and shows in a way a distant distributor cannot. The risk is equally clear: if the Karnataka numbers disappoint, there is no one else to blame. But with advance bookings already moving in the state and the film’s pan-India campaign gathering pace, Yash is effectively putting his home-ground reputation behind Ramayana — and that is exactly the kind of confidence that can turn a big opening into a long run.
