Dhurandhar: The Revenge Crosses Rs 1,365 Crore Worldwide, Passes Part 1’s Lifetime in 11 Days

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge has crossed Rs 1,365 crore in worldwide gross in just 11 days, going past the lifetime total of the first Dhurandhar film and cementing its place as the biggest Indian blockbuster of the year. The spy-action sequel, produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, has now set a run of records that no Hindi film has matched before, from the biggest opening weekend ever for an Indian film to the fastest sprint to Rs 1,000 crore globally.

The day-wise India break-up shows how the run has been built. The film collected Rs 690 crore net in its eight-day opening week, then added Rs 177 crore in its second weekend — Rs 42 crore on Friday, Rs 64 crore on Saturday and Rs 71 crore on Sunday. That takes its India net to Rs 867 crore, with an India gross of Rs 1,023 crore. Overseas markets contributed a further Rs 342 crore across the first week and second weekend, taking the worldwide gross to Rs 1,365 crore. All figures are trade estimates.

The sequel’s record sheet now reads like a list of firsts: the biggest Hindi opener of all time, the highest paid previews ever, the biggest opening weekend worldwide for an Indian film, the highest first-week collections, the fastest film to Rs 1,000 crore globally, the biggest Indian film ever in overseas markets within its first week, and the highest-grossing Indian film in North America. Within its first week alone it had already emerged as the biggest Indian film of all time.

Here is the Filmverse take: the 11-day milestone matters because it reframes what a sequel can do when the first film is still fresh in the audience’s mind. Dhurandhar: The Revenge did not need to rebuild its audience — it inherited one, then expanded it, with the second-weekend jump from Friday to Sunday showing repeat viewing rather than front-loaded curiosity. The overseas number is the more telling figure: at Rs 342 crore in 11 days, the film is travelling well beyond the diaspora strongholds that usually carry Hindi blockbusters. If the current pace holds into the coming weekdays, the trade will soon be debating not whether it is the year’s biggest film, but where it lands among the biggest Indian films ever.
