Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt Celebrate Their First Karwa Chauth at Anil Kapoor’s Home
Aamir Khan and his wife Gauri Spratt celebrated their first Karwa Chauth as a married couple on Thursday evening, attending Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor’s annual festive gathering at their Mumbai residence. The couple, who married in an intimate ceremony in July this year, arrived together and posed for photographers before heading inside to join the celebrations.
For the occasion, Aamir wore a deep blue floral kurta paired with his signature harem pants, while Gauri looked elegant in a purple brocade sharara set. The appearance was one of the most talked-about moments of an evening that has become a fixed date on Bollywood’s festive calendar, with several familiar faces arriving in their traditional best. Gauri Khan, Varun Dhawan, Maheep Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Bhavna Panday and Chunky Panday were among the celebrities spotted at the gathering, while Sonam Kapoor attended in a traditional Anarkali outfit.
The evening also marked another first: Anshula Kapoor celebrated her first Karwa Chauth with her husband Rohan Thakkar, with the couple photographed together as they arrived at the Kapoor residence. Beyond the Kapoor home, other stars marked the festival in their own way — Rakul Preet Singh celebrated with her husband Jackky Bhagnani and shared glimpses on social media, while Tahira Kashyap Khurrana celebrated with her husband Ayushmann Khurrana and posted moments from their evening.
The celebrations were particularly special for Aamir and Gauri because they marked their first Karwa Chauth after getting married in an intimate ceremony in July 2026, Aamir’s third marriage. The actor first introduced Gauri to the media in March 2025, on his 60th birthday, saying they had known each other for about 25 years.
Here is the Filmverse take: the reason this outing travelled so widely is that it is a public milestone in a relationship Aamir kept almost entirely private until last year. Karwa Chauth is a festival built on visible, shared ritual, and for a couple whose wedding was deliberately low-key, turning up hand in hand at Bollywood’s most-photographed Karwa Chauth gathering is its own kind of announcement. It also shows how the festival itself has changed: once a strictly family affair, it is now one of the industry’s biggest social stages, where a first Karwa Chauth carries as much news value as a film announcement. For Aamir, whose public life has always been carefully managed, the ease of this appearance suggests a man comfortable with his second chapter being seen.
