Aadarsha Kutumbam North America Box Office: $900,000 in Two Days as Venkatesh Nears $1 Million in the USA
Venkatesh’s Aadarsha Kutumbam House No. 47 has grossed $900,000 in North America in its first two days, putting the Telugu family entertainer within touching distance of the $1 million mark in the United States. The North American figure leads an overseas total of $1.15 million, with the rest of the world contributing $250,000, according to Pinkvilla’s territory-wise breakdown. The worldwide gross after two days stands at Rs 33.25 crore, with India contributing Rs 22.25 crore gross. All figures are trade estimates.
A separate tracker report puts the United States gross alone at $850,000, and notes that crossing $1 million would make this the fifth film of Venkatesh’s career to reach that milestone in the US. The $1 million line matters because it separates a respectable diaspora opening from a genuine community talking point — and this film is getting there despite a relatively low-key promotional campaign.
The North American journey began modestly. Trade tracker Venky Box Office reported a premiere advance of $176,947 in the USA across 321 locations and 669 shows, with the total North America premiere advance estimated at about $190,000 and heading towards $250,000 to $300,000. Texas was the clear stronghold for the premiere, contributing $66,609 across 160 shows. The tracker had set the film’s North America breakeven at $2.75 million — roughly double the $1.35 million breakeven of Sankranthiki Vasthunam — but Saturday growth in India suggests word of mouth is working in its favour.
The film, written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by S. Radha Krishna under Haarika & Hassine Creations, stars Venkatesh alongside Srinidhi Shetty. It released in theatres on Friday, October 30. Its India gross of Rs 22.25 crore in two days was driven by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which contributed Rs 18.15 crore, with Karnataka adding Rs 3 crore.
Here is the Filmverse take: for Telugu audiences in the US and Canada, this is the weekend’s film to watch precisely because it is not an action spectacle. Family entertainers live or die overseas on weekend word of mouth — one family tells another after the Saturday show — and the climb from a soft premiere advance towards $1 million shows that chain reaction starting. The real test now is Sunday and the weekdays that follow, because Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana arrives on November 5 and will take premium screens everywhere. Crossing $1 million before that storm hits would earn it a place in Venkatesh’s overseas history on its own terms.
