OTT Releases This Week: Dhindora Season 1, Koffee With Karan 9, Akka Lead October 26–November 1 Lineup
The streaming week from October 26 to November 1 is stacked with Indian titles across Netflix, JioHotstar and ZEE5, led by a creator-economy landmark, a Bollywood chat-show event and a female-led period drama. Here is what to watch, and when it arrives.
Bhuvan Bam’s Dhindora Season 1 streams on Netflix from October 28. The BB Ki Vines series, created by Bam and directed by Himank Gaur, follows Bhuvan and his middle-class family through a string of everyday crises, with Bam playing multiple characters from his own universe, including Babloo Ji, Titu Mama and Bancho. The show originally released independently on YouTube in 2021 and became one of India’s first creator-led long-format hits.
Also on October 28, JioHotstar drops episode 3 of Koffee With Karan Season 9, featuring Janhvi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan on the couch together. Netflix’s October 27 offering is The One About Matthew Perry, a documentary revisiting the late Friends star. Then comes a busy October 30: Netflix premieres Akka, starring Keerthy Suresh as Bhavani, the matriarch of the 1980s town of Pernuru, where an elite sisterhood known as the Akkas has controlled the gold trade for generations, alongside Radhika Apte, directed by Dharmaraj Shetty. Netflix also premieres Meethe Mein Kya Hai the same day, a family drama starring Ritwik Bhowmik, Ayesha Raza and Rohini Hattangadi, set during a Diwali gathering in Lucknow. JioHotstar adds Love Always, a Tamil romantic fantasy series starring Gouri G Kishan about an older married couple on the verge of divorce who magically turn 20 again. ZEE5 premieres Rudravanam PS, a Telugu crime thriller starring Naresh Agastya as a sub-inspector investigating a missing man and a headless body.
Here is the Filmverse take: this is a week where Indian streaming is betting on familiarity rather than novelty — a beloved creator’s back catalogue, a chat show that reliably trends, and a period drama built around two of the most respected actresses working today. The most interesting arrival is Dhindora, because it marks how far creator-led content has travelled: a show made independently for YouTube now sits on the same Netflix homepage as global originals. If it finds a second audience there, expect every major creator’s catalogue to become a bidding target.
