In its debut week, the movie Shaitaan raked in an impressive sum of around 80 crore nett, showcasing a strong performance even after the initial hype settled post-Monday. While it stands as the second-highest grossing film in its first week this year, following closely behind Fighter with 130 crore nett, the gap between the figures of Shaitaan and Fighter is gradually narrowing. Despite being a smaller production in comparison, Shaitaan is holding its ground and matching Fighter in terms of box office numbers in certain regions. This unexpected success is a testament to the film’s appeal and the audience’s reception, proving that size doesn’t always dictate success in the world of cinema.

The movie has been a resounding success and its longevity in theaters is eagerly anticipated. With its established popularity, the film is expected to maintain its momentum over the coming weeks. The early estimates suggest a collection of around 4.5 crore on the second Friday which is good and sure to grow from here during the second weekend.

There is a possibility that it could reach 200 crore globally as the second Friday is maintaining strong performance, which is a significant achievement for a film of this nature.

Update on second Saturday, March 17:

Shaitaan saw a 70% increase in revenue on its second Saturday, collecting 8.50 crore nett and reaching a total of 94 crore nett. Despite being in its second weekend, the film remains the top performer of the week. While the Gujarat region and Mumbai city showed lackluster performance, the Mumbai circuit is performing exceptionally well, with Pune and Thane driving the film’s success in the circuit.

And then the early estimates for the second Sunday is also encouraging where there is some growth on top of super Saturday.

Update on Third Saturday, March 23:

On its third Friday, “Shaitaan” maintained strong performance by earning 2.35 crore nett, solidifying its position as the most successful film of 2024. It has the potential to become the first blockbuster of the year. The film’s impressive performance on Friday has altered its trajectory, making it highly likely to surpass the 150 crore nett mark.

The fourth week will include a Good Friday holiday, and if it continues its positive trend after week three, it could achieve “SUPER HIT” status. The film has amassed around 121 crore nett so far, and its strong performance on the third Friday and then on Saturday indicates there is still momentum. Despite the new releases underperforming, this film is benefiting from audience preferences post-pandemic, where successful films attract viewers while others are overlooked.
