Ramayana Advance Bookings Cross Rs 100 Crore Worldwide as PVR INOX Calls It a Historic Pre-Diwali Record

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One has crossed Rs 100 crore in worldwide advance bookings, two days before its theatrical release on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Trade reports published on Tuesday, November 3, put the worldwide advance total at Rs 105 crore, with India pre-sales touching around Rs 58 crore before blocked seats and about Rs 72.91 crore gross including blocked seats, as tracked by Sacnilk. The film’s opening day alone (Thursday, November 5) accounts for roughly Rs 38.27 crore of advance bookings in India, including Rs 32.41 crore without blocked seats. All figures are trade estimates, not producer figures.

The exhibitor response has been just as striking. Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Business Planning and Strategy at PVR INOX, posted on Tuesday that Ramayana had crossed Rs 25 crore in advance ticket sales at PVR INOX alone, writing that the film had “shattered the long-believed pre-Diwali jinx” and was on course for “the BIGGEST pre-Diwali advance bookings in PVR INOX’s 30+ year long history”. Advance bookings for the film opened on Dussehra, October 20, and the pre-sales momentum has built through the final week, with North America paid previews on November 4 adding more than $1.5 million in premiere pre-sales and total overseas advance bookings reaching $5 million.

Ramayana: Part One is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with Monster Mind Creations, and it stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The film releases in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, with IMAX as a primary platform, and Part Two is slated for Diwali 2027.

Here is the Filmverse take: the Rs 100 crore advance figure is less a prediction than a down payment — audiences have already bought the opening before a single review lands, which means the film’s first weekend is now about how high it goes rather than whether it opens. The PVR INOX note matters because it breaks a piece of trade folklore: the pre-Diwali window was supposed to be soft for big releases, and Ramayana has just made it the biggest pre-sales window in the chain’s history. The risk in reading too much into advance numbers is that they measure intent, not satisfaction; but for a two-part epic, intent is exactly what Part 2 needs, and Part 1 now walks into Thursday with the loudest opening a pre-Diwali release has ever had.
