Udta Teer Box Office Day 2: Ayushmann Khurrana’s Spy Comedy Holds at ₹4.18 Crore, Two-Day Total Nears ₹8.5 Crore
Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s spy comedy Udta Teer is holding its ground into its second day. According to live trade tracking, the film collected around ₹4.18 crore nett on Saturday, October 24, taking its two-day total to approximately ₹8.56 crore nett.
The opening day itself drew differing estimates from trade watchers. Sacnilk put day 1 at ₹4.10 crore nett, while Pinkvilla reported around ₹3.75 crore nett, after a start that looked closer to ₹3 crore in the morning shows before picking up in the evening. The film opened across nearly 6,600 shows, and day 2 began with 1,09,282 tickets pre-sold across 7,150 shows.
Directed by Akash Kaushik and produced by Dharma Productions with Sikhya Entertainment, Udta Teer stars Ayushmann as a Pakistani spy who loses his memory after a mission and comes to believe he is a loyal Indian officer, with Sara as a counter-terrorism officer. The ensemble includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Suhail Nayyar, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Supriya Pilgaonkar and the late Mukul Dev.
The opening is modest in absolute terms, but it carries some encouraging context. Trade reports note that the film has already out-opened other 2026 comedies such as Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe and Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli, as well as Ayushmann and Sara’s own previous pairing, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. Mumbai has performed better than Delhi-NCR so far, and reviews have been mixed to positive.
The road ahead is clear but narrow. Made on a reported budget of around ₹50 crore, the film needs a strong jump through the rest of the weekend and a steady hold in the coming week, with no major releases lined up before Ramayana arrives on November 5 and reshapes screen availability.
Here is the Filmverse take: Udta Teer is behaving like a classic Saturday film — a slow morning, a better evening, and a second day that refuses to collapse. That pattern is worth more than the opening number suggests, because it means the film’s comedy is working for the audiences who actually show up, even if the pre-release buzz never converted into a big first-day rush. The danger is arithmetic, not affection: at this pace the film needs the weekend to do heavy lifting, and 2026 has not been kind to non-franchise comedies that open in this range. But with a clear runway until Diwali and a premise that plays well in word of mouth, a ₹6 crore-plus Sunday would change the entire conversation around this film from “slow starter” to “sleeper.”
