Nayyi Navelli Box Office Day 11: Yami Gautam’s Film Crawls to Rs 24.95 Crore as Second Week Fades

Yami Gautam’s fantasy horror-comedy Nayyi Navelli is running out of steam in its second week. The film collected an estimated Rs 35 lakh net on its second Monday, Day 11, a steep 63.2 per cent drop from its second Sunday, taking its India net total to Rs 24.95 crore. The film is now crawling towards the Rs 25 crore net mark rather than racing past it, with its theatrical fate effectively sealed.

The day-by-day figures show exactly where the momentum went. Directed by Balaji Mohan, the film opened on October 16 with Rs 3.25 crore, followed by Rs 4 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.40 crore on Sunday. Weekdays held up reasonably, with Rs 2.65 crore on Monday, Rs 4.35 crore on Tuesday, Rs 2 crore on Wednesday and Rs 1.50 crore on Thursday, for a first week of Rs 22.15 crore. The second week has been a different story: Rs 60 lakh on Friday, Rs 90 lakh on Saturday, Rs 95 lakh on Sunday and Rs 35 lakh on Monday, across around 1,300 shows at just 8 per cent occupancy. The India gross stands at Rs 29.62 crore, overseas at Rs 3.15 crore gross, and the worldwide gross at Rs 32.77 crore, all trade estimates.

Nayyi Navelli, co-produced by Aanand L. Rai’s Color Yellow Productions and Amazon MGM Studios, clashed at the box office with Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar and led that contest through its first week, but the second-week slide has been sharper than the opening suggested. The film also stars Adinath Kothare, Sushmita Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht, Suneel Sinha, Sunita Rajwar, Prateek Pachori, Babita Pandey and Sonal Jha, and blends fantasy, horror-comedy and mythology — a mix that gave it a distinctive opening-weekend identity but has not translated into a long run.

Here is the Filmverse take: Nayyi Navelli’s trajectory is a familiar mid-budget story in 2026 — a decent opening built on curiosity, then a second week that collapses once the core audience has been served. The Rs 25 crore line matters less as a number than as a verdict: it separates films that found a wider audience from those that merely opened well. For Yami Gautam, who has built her recent career on content-driven choices, the film’s fade is less a setback than a reminder of how unforgiving the second weekend has become for anything without strong word of mouth. The film’s second life, if it has one, will be on streaming, where its fantasy-mythology blend may find the family audience that theatres did not deliver.
