Jr NTR Unveils Itlu Arjuna Trailer: Debutant Aniesh Plays a Speech-Impaired Thief in Nagarjuna-Presented Love Story

Jr NTR has thrown his weight behind one of the most unusual debuts of the year, unveiling the trailer of Itlu Arjuna and praising newcomer Aniesh for choosing a role most first-time heroes would run from. The film, presented by Nagarjuna and produced by Venky Kudumula, arrives in theatres on November 13.

Sharing the trailer on X, Jr NTR wrote that Aniesh’s debut “speaks without a single word and that takes real guts”, adding that choosing such a role for a first film “shows how much you believe in the story over everything else”. It is a striking endorsement from one of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars, and it immediately sets Itlu Arjuna apart from the usual launch vehicle.

The trailer reveals why. Aniesh plays Arjun, a young man who is speech-impaired and skilled at stealing, a character who communicates through action rather than dialogue. He is in love with Keerthy, played by Anaswara Rajan, and the trailer blends crime, romance and suspense as the police close in on a thief who cannot speak for himself. It is a high-wire premise for a debutant, and the trailer’s stylish action sequences and emotional beats suggest the gamble is deliberate rather than accidental.

The film carries serious backing. Nagarjuna came forward to present it after watching and liking its content, and director Venky Kudumula is producing it under his What Next Entertainments banner as the company’s first production. Mahesh Uppala makes his directorial debut, with S Thaman composing the music, Raja Mahadhevan handling cinematography, and a supporting cast that includes Vennela Kishore, Mukesh Rishi, Kalaiyarasan Harikrishnan, Elango Kumaravel and Brahmaji.

Itlu Arjuna was originally scheduled for release on October 30 but was postponed, and now arrives on November 13, a week after the Diwali rush. That timing could work in its favour: with Ramayana and Scene dominating the festive weekend, a smaller film with a distinctive hook gets a clearer run, and the trailer’s curiosity value — a silent hero in a love story — is exactly the kind of premise that travels on social media. For Aniesh, the debut is a statement of intent. Most newcomers pick a safe romantic lead or an action showcase; he has picked a character who cannot speak, in a film where the story must do the talking.
