Ramayana Day 4 Live: Ranbir Kapoor Epic Crosses Rs 200 Crore on Diwali Sunday, Eyes Rs 67 Crore Day
Ramayana: Part One has crossed Rs 200 crore net in India — on its fourth day, and on Diwali itself. BoxOfficeIndia24’s live tracker puts the running India net total at Rs 221.96 crore as of its 2:24 PM update on Sunday, with Rs 47.21 crore collected so far on Day 4 and the day projected to close near Rs 67.25 crore net, in a range of Rs 63.89 crore to Rs 70.62 crore.
Bollywood Hungama’s afternoon update tells the same story from the ground. The film had collected Rs 25.29 crore net by 12 noon on Sunday, a jump of 41.76 per cent over Saturday at the same reporting time and 24.15 per cent over the opening Thursday. Morning occupancy was 35.9 per cent, improving to 39 per cent for afternoon shows, with evening occupancy provisionally reported at 46.7 per cent. The advance booking alone was worth Rs 34.95 crore, with 11.87 lakh tickets sold before the first show — and 3D shows dominated, contributing Rs 20.20 crore, or nearly 58 per cent of the advance total.
The regional picture is just as strong. In Kerala, trade tracker AB George reported Rs 3.90 crore gross from 940 tracked shows by noon at 83 per cent occupancy, taking the film’s four-day Kerala gross past Rs 13 crore. That puts it within touching distance of the reported Kerala lifetime totals of Pathaan (Rs 13.10 crore) and Jawan (Rs 13.40 crore), and it has already registered the biggest opening weekend ever for a Bollywood release in the state, ahead of Jawan’s Rs 9.45 crore and Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s Rs 9.20 crore.
There is one genuine risk to the day’s total, and it is the festival itself. Sunday coincides with Diwali and Lakshmi Puja, and Bollywood Hungama notes that evening festivities could dent footfalls for the night shows. But the advance booking for Monday already tells the next part of the story: TrackTollywood reports Rs 42.96 crore gross and 10.77 lakh tickets sold for November 9 shows, suggesting the post-Diwali Monday could be the film’s biggest weekday yet. On Sacnilk’s revised estimate, the four-day India net total should land in the Rs 220–245 crore range the trade had projected before release — and the Sunday surge, on the biggest festival day of the year, is exactly the shape a Rs 4,000 crore two-part saga needs.
