Ramayana Day 3 Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor Epic Eyes Rs 70 Crore Saturday as Worldwide Total Nears Rs 250 Crore

Ramayana: Part 1 is heading for its biggest day yet. After a record opening of Rs 64.85 crore net in India on Thursday and Rs 48.05 crore on Friday, Nitesh Tiwari’s epic has surged on its first Saturday. Bollywood Hungama reports the film collected Rs 23.95 crore net by 12 noon — already ahead of Thursday’s noon figure of Rs 20.37 crore and far above Friday’s Rs 13.16 crore at the same hour.

Live tracking puts a Rs 70 crore day within reach. Bollywood Hungama’s live page showed Day 3 at Rs 28.41 crore net by early afternoon, taking the three-day India net total to Rs 136.72 crore and the worldwide gross to Rs 249.96 crore. Sacnilk’s live estimate at 1:03 pm put Day 3 at Rs 22.98 crore net, with the India total at Rs 135.88 crore net and Rs 161.92 crore gross. All Day 3 figures are live trade estimates and will move through the evening; the final numbers arrive tonight.

The advance bookings explain the surge. The film sold 12.19 lakh tickets worth Rs 47.05 crore gross in advance for Day 3, according to Bollywood Hungama, and TrackTollywood reports Rs 29.33 crore gross already booked for Sunday’s shows — Sunday is Diwali itself, when family audiences traditionally turn out in force. The film opened in five languages on Thursday, November 5, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.

The Saturday jump matters because it answers the one doubt hanging over the film after Friday. The 26 per cent drop on Dhanteras looked like a warning; the noon comparison shows it was a weekday effect, not a rejection. A Saturday that beats opening day would put the three-day India net total near Rs 180 crore and leave Rs 200 crore in sight on Diwali day itself. That is the trajectory a film carrying a reported combined budget of nearly Rs 4,000 crore across two parts needs — Part 2 is due for Diwali 2028, so this weekend is the franchise’s launchpad.

There is a fight off-screen too: the Bombay High Court has passed a takedown order against pirated clips of the film circulating online, a reminder of how much is at stake for the makers. The real test still lies ahead — Monday, when the festival crowds thin out and word of mouth has to carry the run. But for now, the Diwali weekend belongs to Ramayana.
