Ramayana Day 3 Final Collections: Ranbir Kapoor Epic Scores Rs 69.80 Crore Saturday, Worldwide Total Hits Rs 375 Crore

Ramayana: Part One has delivered its biggest single day yet. Final trade estimates put Day 3 at Rs 69.80 crore net in India, a Saturday surge that beat its record opening day and confirmed the Nitesh Tiwari epic as the defining box-office story of this Diwali.

According to Sacnilk, Hindi led with Rs 53.00 crore on Saturday, followed by Kannada at Rs 6.30 crore, Telugu at Rs 6.00 crore, Tamil at Rs 2.50 crore and Malayalam at Rs 2.00 crore. The Day 3 figure is a 45.3 per cent jump over Friday’s Rs 48.05 crore, reversing the second-day dip. Bollywood Hungama’s live tracker broadly agrees, recording a Day 3 of Rs 67.59 crore and a worldwide gross of Rs 370.97 crore.

The three-day totals now read like a record book in progress. India net stands at Rs 182.70 crore, with India gross at Rs 218.25 crore. Overseas markets added Rs 60 crore on Saturday alone, taking the overseas total to Rs 157.25 crore and the worldwide gross to Rs 375.50 crore in just three days — within touching distance of the Rs 200 crore India net mark, a milestone Sunday’s shows are widely expected to deliver.

The overseas story is just as striking. The film crossed $10 million overseas in its first two days, and Deadline has it at around $6 million over the Friday-to-Sunday frame in North America, or about $9 million across four days with previews, at 1,433 theatres — the widest North American release ever for an Indian film.

Saturday’s rebound settles the question that hung over the film after Friday’s fall from a Rs 62.47 crore opening to Rs 45.84 crore. The jump of more than 45 per cent is the kind of number usually reserved for films with strong word of mouth, and it suggests audiences are returning in family groups. Advance bookings had already matched opening-day levels, with 3.20 lakh tickets sold across PVR Inox and Cinepolis.

What makes this run remarkable is the scale of the bet behind it. With a reported combined budget of around Rs 4,000 crore for the two-part saga, Part One needs a long, leggy run rather than a fast opening, and the Saturday recovery is exactly the shape the trade wanted to see. If Sunday holds near Saturday’s level, the first weekend will close among the biggest in Indian cinema history.
