Ramayana North America Box Office: $10 Million Overseas in 2 Days, USA Leads at $4.47 Million
Ramayana: Part One has crossed $10 million overseas in just two days, keeping Nitesh Tiwari’s epic on course for the biggest international opening weekend ever for a Bollywood film. Pinkvilla’s trade estimates put the film’s overseas gross through Friday at $10.05 million (about Rs 95 crore), after a second day of $4.65 million (about Rs 44 crore) that improved on Thursday across all markets.
The United States is doing the heavy lifting: $4.475 million (about Rs 42 crore) in two days, with Canada adding $1.025 million (about Rs 9.7 crore) for a North America total of roughly $5.5 million. The UK follows at $1.185 million, the Middle East at $1 million and Australia at $800,000. With about Rs 132 crore from India, the worldwide gross stands at approximately Rs 227 crore.
Pinkvilla projects the four-day extended Diwali weekend will finish above $20 million overseas, likely around $22 million, taking the worldwide gross past Rs 500 crore. Saturday is the day to watch: US advance sales for the first Saturday stood at $1.66 million by Friday night, putting Dhurandhar 2’s first-Saturday record of $2.65 million within reach.
For context, Ramayana is now the second-biggest Bollywood opener internationally, behind only Dhurandhar: The Revenge. In like-for-like markets it trails Dhurandhar by roughly 10 per cent — the US down about 10 per cent, Canada and Australia trailing by 20–25 per cent — but it is ahead of Pathaan and Jawan in every major market except the Middle East.
The number that frames everything else is the North America breakeven: around $30 million. Dhurandhar 2 finished its entire North America run at $28.65 million, so Ramayana needs a long run, not just a big opening. The record $2 million premiere and the $4.40 million USA weekend advance we reported on November 5 gave it the launchpad.
Here is the Filmverse take: the $10 million mark matters less as a round number than as proof that the overseas audience showed up twice — first for the premieres, then again on Friday, with Saturday advances already pointing higher. Two days in, the answer is leaning yes. The caution is the breakeven: at $30 million in North America alone, even a $22 million overseas weekend leaves a long road, and the film will need the weekday holds that only genuine word of mouth delivers.
