Tara Sutaria Joins Aditya Roy Kapur in Milap Milan Zaveri’s Intense Musical Love Story
Tara Sutaria has found her next leading man — and it is a first-time pairing with real musical-romance pedigree. The actor will star opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in an untitled romantic drama directed by Milap Milan Zaveri and produced by Bhushan Kumar under T-Series, with Shiv Chanana as co-producer, according to reports published on October 24.
The film is described by its makers as an intense, violent and passionate musical love story, placing romance and emotional conflict at the centre of the narrative, with music expected to play an integral role in the storytelling. The project is scheduled to go on floors later in 2026, ahead of a theatrical release in 2027.
For both leads, the casting plays to established strengths while offering something new. Tara reunites with Zaveri and Kumar after Marjaavaan (2019), which starred Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh, and the new film marks her third association with T-Series after her appearance in Ek Villain Returns (2022). Zaveri has built his career on heightened romantic emotions set against backdrops of violence and sacrifice, and Marjaavaan remains the clearest template for the tone being promised here. Aditya, meanwhile, carries one of the strongest musical-romance associations in contemporary Hindi cinema thanks to Aashiqui 2, where songs were not decoration but the emotional spine of the story.
The announcement lands at a moment when emotionally charged romantic dramas are finding renewed favour with mainstream audiences, with music once again shaping a film’s fate well beyond its theatrical run. A fresh pairing helps too: neither actor has shared the screen before, so the film arrives without the baggage of a previous on-screen equation.
Here is the Filmverse take: this casting works precisely because it is not a safe reunion or a stunt pairing. Aditya brings the wounded-romantic credibility that made Aashiqui 2 endure, Tara brings a screen presence that has too often been used decoratively rather than dramatically, and Zaveri brings a willingness to let romance turn violent rather than polite. The risk is equally clear: ‘intense, violent and passionate’ is a combination that tips easily into melodrama, and a musical love story lives or dies on its soundtrack, which is still unannounced. If T-Series — a music-first banner if ever there was one — lands songs that travel before the trailer does, this pairing could become one of 2027’s most talked-about. If not, even the freshest pairing cannot carry a love story audiences cannot hum on the way home.
