Jailer 2 Trailer Out — Rajinikanth Returns as Muthuvel Pandian on October 15
The tiger is back. The official trailer of Jailer 2 dropped on October 5, and it wastes no time: Superstar Rajinikanth returns as Muthuvel Pandian, the retired jailer with a dark past, in a bigger, wilder action spectacle from director Nelson Dilipkumar.
The trailer promises high-octane action, mass moments, Nelson’s trademark dark humour — and a genuinely stacked ensemble. The glimpse also teases appearances by Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar, alongside the main cast.
The cast
Rajinikanth leads an all-star lineup: S.J. Suryah, Vidya Balan (reportedly in a grey-shaded role), Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna, with Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar in key appearances.
The story
The sequel picks up where the 2023 blockbuster left off. Muthuvel Pandian is forced back into action to protect his family from a powerful criminal network connected to Varman (Vinayakan) — with bigger stakes, fresh faces and the same controlled chaos that made the original a ₹600-crore phenomenon.
Director, producer, release date
Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, with an Anirudh Ravichander musical, produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The film releases worldwide on October 15, 2026 — a Dussehra gift.
