Jailer 2 Day 8 Box Office: Rajinikanth’s Film Crosses Rs 606 Crore Worldwide, Rs 334 Crore India Net in Eight Days

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 continues its record-breaking march. The film has crossed Rs 606.05 crore in worldwide gross collections after eight days in theatres, with India net earnings reaching Rs 334.35 crore, according to trade estimates tracked by Sacnilk.

Thursday, October 22 — day 8 — saw the film earn an estimated Rs 17.15 crore in India net collections, a 39.1% drop from Wednesday’s Rs 28.15 crore. The domestic gross has reached Rs 391.55 crore, while overseas markets have contributed Rs 214.50 crore. Thursday’s earnings came from 13,241 shows across multiple language versions, with the film recording 1,189,753 footfalls on the day — taking cumulative footfalls past 2.2 crore (22,052,867).

The language split tells the familiar story of a Rajinikanth phenomenon: Tamil screenings remained the biggest contributor on Thursday, collecting Rs 10.75 crore from 5,883 shows — approximately 62.7% of the day’s India net. Telugu added Rs 3.60 crore across 2,085 shows, the Hindi version earned Rs 2.40 crore from 5,095 shows, and Kannada contributed Rs 40 lakhs. Tamil 2D screenings registered 32.75% overall occupancy, rising to 40.69% for night shows.

The Thursday dip is entirely expected — it follows the Dussehra holiday spike, and a post-holiday weekday settling in the Rs 15–20 crore range for a film of this scale is healthy rather than worrying. What matters more is the milestone itself: crossing Rs 600 crore worldwide within eight days puts Jailer 2 in territory that very few Indian films have ever reached, and the overseas contribution of over Rs 214 crore confirms Rajinikanth’s draw far beyond Tamil Nadu. The interesting subplot is the Hindi version’s steady Rs 2.4-crore daily base — dubbed Tamil films have historically struggled in the Hindi belt, but the Nelson-Rajinikanth brand is clearly cutting through.
