Ramayana Day 2 Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor Epic Crosses Rs 100 Crore in India, Rs 221 Crore Worldwide

Ramayana: Part 1 has passed its first real test. After a record opening day of Rs 64.85 crore net in India, Nitesh Tiwari’s epic held well on its second day — a Dhanteras Friday — and crossed Rs 100 crore net in India in just two days.

Pinkvilla reports the Hindi version collected around Rs 35 crore nett on Day 2, a drop of 20–25 per cent from opening day, which it calls fairly typical for a film that opened on a Thursday. Excluding 3D charges, the Day 2 estimates are Rs 33 crore nett in Hindi and Rs 44–45 crore nett across India. The dubbed versions held up well too, at around Rs 12–13 crore nett, best in Telugu.

Filmibeat’s day-wise split puts Day 2 in India at Rs 48.05 crore — Hindi Rs 35.5 crore, Kannada Rs 5.15 crore, Telugu Rs 4.75 crore, Tamil Rs 1.5 crore and Malayalam Rs 1.15 crore. Overseas, the film added Rs 35 crore on Day 2, taking its two-day overseas total to Rs 86.25 crore and its worldwide gross to Rs 221.05 crore — already past Adipurush’s worldwide total on only its second day. All figures are trade estimates.

The hold looks even better at the big chains: at PVR Inox, Ramayana grossed Rs 14.92 crore by 3 pm on Friday, only 28 per cent down from Thursday at the same hour. Overseas, Australia jumped to AUD 650K on Friday and the United Kingdom is on course to set new opening-weekend records for Indian cinema.

Pinkvilla expects the dubbed versions to reach around Rs 90 crore nett over the five-day extended weekend, while Bollywood Hungama puts the four-day Hindi total at around Rs 164 crore. Both agree: the first four days are a waiting game, and Monday will set the tone of the run.

That is the honest read on Day 2. A 20–25 per cent Friday drop on Dhanteras is not a warning sign; it is a film surviving its weakest day. But Ramayana has spent its first four days on pre-Diwali weekdays. It has crossed Rs 100 crore in India and Rs 221 crore worldwide in two days — yet its real test begins on Monday, when the festival crowds thin out and word of mouth has to do the work.
