Jailer 2 Day 20 Box Office: Rs 816.90 Crore Worldwide as Rajinikanth’s Blockbuster Holds Almost Flat on Tuesday

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has crossed Rs 816.90 crore worldwide after 20 days in theatres, adding Rs 3.35 crore net in India on Day 20 (Tuesday, November 3) — a drop of just 1.5 per cent from Monday’s Rs 3.40 crore net, the flattest weekday hold of its third week. The film played 8,050 shows on Tuesday at 13.9 per cent occupancy, and the near-flat Tuesday is notable because most third-week films keep sliding through the weekdays rather than levelling off. All figures are trade estimates.

The Tuesday addition takes the film’s India net total to Rs 463.05 crore and its domestic gross to Rs 541.65 crore. Overseas markets added Rs 1 crore on Tuesday, taking the overseas gross to Rs 275.25 crore, and the worldwide gross now stands at Rs 816.90 crore. The language break-up on Day 20 reads Tamil Rs 1.93 crore net, Hindi Rs 80 lakh, Telugu Rs 45 lakh and Kannada Rs 17 lakh, with Tamil still contributing the bulk of the daily total in the film’s third week.

Jailer 2 is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian alongside Ramya Krishnan, S. J. Suryah, Vidya Balan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa, with special appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi. The film released in theatres on October 15 and became the first Tamil film ever to cross Rs 800 crore worldwide, as reported here: https://filmverse.in/jailer-2-crosses-800-crore-worldwide-first-tamil-film/ — and our Day 19 report is here: https://filmverse.in/jailer-2-day-19-box-office-812-crore-worldwide/

Here is the Filmverse take: a 1.5 per cent Tuesday drop in week three is the kind of number that tells you a film has found its floor audience — the viewers still turning up are not opening-weekend tourists but the core fans and repeat viewers who will keep a film alive on weekdays. That floor is exactly what Jailer 2 needs heading into Thursday, when Ramayana arrives and premium screens everywhere get reshuffled. The Rs 1,000 crore question remains arithmetic rather than hope, but every flat weekday from here adds to a total that already rewrote Tamil cinema’s record book, and the film’s real legacy — the first Tamil film past Rs 800 crore — is already secure.
