Ravi Kishan’s Mera Yaar Bajrangi Announced for Diwali 2027, First Look Carries ‘Dosti Ho To Aisi’

Ravi Kishan has a new film, and it comes with a devotional twist. Mahaveer Jain Films announced its next project, titled Mera Yaar Bajrangi, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, unveiling the film’s first look alongside the announcement. The film, described as a devotional drama, stars Ravi Kishan in the lead role and is directed by Amit Aarryan.

Mera Yaar Bajrangi casts Kishan as an ordinary man and a devoted follower of Lord Hanuman, also known as Bajrangi. The story explores a unique bond of friendship between a human and Lord Hanuman, built around themes of faith, devotion and friendship. The first look carries the film’s tagline, “Dosti ho to Aisi” — roughly, “if there is friendship, let it be like this” — which sets out the film’s pitch in a single line: this is a friendship story first, and a devotional story through it.

The film is jointly produced by Mahaveer Jain Films and Ratpack Stories, with Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Anu Gurnani, Kavin Shah, Vinayak Kumar, Kshitij Mehta and Shikha K Ahluwalia attached. Aarryan previously worked for a long period in television as a dialogue writer, on films including Anybody Can Dance and Do Knot Disturb.

The makers have tentatively set the film for a Diwali 2027 release, which could put it against Ramayana: Part 2 if that film sticks to its schedule — a bold slot that shows the Diwali window is no longer reserved only for the year’s biggest star vehicles.

For Kishan, the film adds to a busy run: he was recently seen in Mirzapur: The Movie, and he is also part of Sunny Deol’s Suryaa: Ant se Aarambh Tak, releasing November 20. Mahaveer Jain Films also has a collaboration with Imtiaz Ali and a Siddharth Anand thriller inspired by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s intervention in Colombia’s civil war.

Here is the Filmverse take: Mera Yaar Bajrangi works because it does not ask its audience to choose between devotion and entertainment. The faith-led stories that last are built on a human relationship, not a sermon — and a friendship between an ordinary man and Bajrangi can carry humour, emotion and spectacle without preaching. The Diwali 2027 date is a gamble against a possible Ramayana: Part 2 clash, but it is also a statement that this story belongs in the festival conversation, not on its margins.
