Dhruv Tripathi’s Directorial Debut Reporting Live Ranks No. 6 Globally on Netflix

Debutant director Dhruv Tripathi has a dream opening on streaming. His first feature film, Reporting Live, starring Parineeti Chopra, has secured the No. 6 position globally on Netflix and ranked No. 2 among the Top 10 Movies in India, according to independent tracking platform Flix Point.

The film has also featured in the Global Top 10 across OTT platforms, signalling growing reach beyond Indian audiences for its subject-driven story. Set against the fast-paced world of journalism, Reporting Live follows the challenges and risks of the pursuit of truth, exploring the courage required to question powerful forces.

The ensemble cast includes Parineeti Chopra, Deven Bhojani, Adil Hussain, Amol Palekar and Shekhar Suman. For Tripathi, a graduate of the London Film School’s MA Filmmaking programme, the chart performance marks a notable beginning to his feature career after shorts like 10x10ft — which won Best Screenplay at the Moscow International Short Film Festival and Best Director at the Indian World Film Festival — and Intezaar.

With Indian content increasingly finding cross-border audiences, Reporting Live’s global ranking is another reminder that strong storytelling travels.
