Jailer 2 Day 1 Box Office: Rajinikanth’s Sequel Races Past Rs 50 Crore India Gross, Nears Rs 70 Crore in Early Estimates

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has stormed into theatres with a thunderous opening day. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed sequel released worldwide on October 15, 2026, and early trade estimates put it past the Rs 50 crore India gross mark on its opening day — with the final figure expected once all collections are fully tallied.

Tamil Nadu is driving the charge, while the Telugu and Hindi dubbed versions add steadily to the tally. State-wise early gross figures put the day-one India total near Rs 70.25 crore (Rs 59.70 crore net), with Tamil Nadu at Rs 24 crore, APTG and Karnataka at Rs 14.50 crore each, and Kerala at a strong Rs 12.50 crore.

Early estimates point to roughly Rs 55 crore from international markets, setting up a potential Rs 125 crore-plus worldwide opening day.

The start was telegraphed by the advance booking: day-one pre-sales closed at Rs 41.48 crore gross (including block seats) in India, and the film crossed one million ticket sales on BookMyShow — Rajinikanth’s third film to reach that milestone. It ran across more than 8,300 shows on day one at around 43.7 per cent overall occupancy.

All figures are early trade estimates compiled from trackers and may be revised as final numbers arrive.
