Eetha Trailer Date Locked: Shraddha Kapoor’s Biopic Gets October 30 Trailer Ahead of December 4 Release

Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha has its trailer date. Maddock Films has locked Friday, October 30, 2026 for the trailer launch of the biographical drama, with Kapoor unveiling a new poster to mark the countdown. The film itself arrives in cinemas on December 4, 2026, giving the trailer just over a month to build momentum ahead of release.

Eetha is directed by Laxman Utekar and written by Kshitij Patwardhan, and it is backed by Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations, with Utekar producing alongside Dinesh Vijan and Karishma Sharma. Kapoor plays Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, the legendary Tamasha and Lavani performer whose life forms the heart of the film. The cast also includes Randeep Hooda, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Anant Joshi, Siddharth Jadhav and Nana Patekar. In essence, the film traces the journey of a celebrated folk theatre artist who rose from modest beginnings to become one of Maharashtra’s most iconic stage names.

The project has already travelled a long road to this trailer. Eetha was initially scheduled for an August release before the makers pushed it to December, and its teaser first reached audiences attached to theatrical screenings of Cocktail 2 in June, when Kapoor’s first-look posters — showing her in traditional Maharashtrian attire against an elaborate folk-stage backdrop — set off a wave of fan excitement. The October 30 trailer is therefore not a first glimpse but a second act: the moment the film has to show, rather than suggest, what Kapoor’s performance actually looks like.

For Kapoor, the film is a significant image shift. She was last seen in the 2024 theatrical release Stree 2, one of the biggest Hindi hits of that year, and before that opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar in 2023. Eetha positions her instead in a character-led narrative built around performance, dance traditions and historical memory — a biopic of a real folk artist, rather than a franchise or a glossy romance.

Here is the Filmverse take: the December 4 date is doing quiet work for Eetha. It puts the film in the same corridor as the year’s prestige releases without asking it to fight a festival-weekend clash, and it gives Maddock a clean five-week trailer-to-release runway — long enough for the Lavani music to travel, short enough that curiosity does not cool. The real question the trailer must answer is tone: whether Utekar has made a reverent museum piece or a living, breathing stage drama. Kapoor’s career has been built on knowing exactly which lane she is in; Eetha is the first time she has stepped this far outside it, and the trailer will tell us whether audiences are ready to follow her there.
