Tiger Shroff Back on Set: Resumes Shooting for ‘Lag Jaa Gale’ Days After Firing Incident
Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has resumed shooting for his upcoming film Lag Jaa Gale, just days after unidentified gunmen fired at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area, Bollywood Hungama reported on Thursday.
The attack took place around 7 pm on Sunday, October 18, as the actor was leaving a football club near Pushpa Narsee Park. Assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at his vehicle. Tiger escaped without gunshot injuries — Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who visited him that night, said he sustained cuts on his left hand from gunpowder and glass fragments — while his driver took a bullet to his left arm and a nearby autorickshaw driver was also hurt. Both were reported stable.
The investigation has moved swiftly. Three shooters — Rehan alias Sukka, Ritik Kurmi alias Roshan and Phool Singh — were intercepted on a train at Kota and brought to Mumbai, where a court has remanded them to police custody till October 31. The Delhi Police Special Cell separately arrested four people, including two women, for allegedly supplying the firearms. With three more arrests from Haryana — Sameer, Jatin and Ankit — the total number of accused in custody has now reached ten. Police told the court the attack was allegedly carried out on the directions of Anil Pandit, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and that the accused had practised shooting near Mumbai before the attack, with one firearm even misfiring inside their Andheri hotel room.
In a startling disclosure, police sources said the shooters had first conducted a recce of Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments residence but abandoned the plan after spotting police personnel outside, switching to Shroff as an easier target. The accused also allegedly surveyed Ranbir Kapoor’s Bandra residence and visited buildings housing Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh. Security has since been beefed up outside Salman Khan’s home.
The actor’s quick return to work sends its own message — but the widening recce list is the real story here. What began as an attack on one star is now a probe touching four of the industry’s biggest names, and it has rattled Bollywood’s sense of security. Manoj Bajpayee, reacting to the incident, called it “really scary” and described the film industry as a “soft target”, adding his relief that Tiger escaped unhurt. With the festive release calendar in full swing, the industry’s unease is unlikely to fade until the alleged conspiracy is fully unravelled.
