Farzi 2: Shahid Kapoor Wraps Shoot, Says ‘Sunny Lives in Me’

Shahid Kapoor has wrapped the shoot of Farzi 2, and the actor marked the milestone with an emotional Instagram post that has fans of the Prime Video series buzzing.

Sharing a string of behind-the-scenes pictures featuring his looks from the second season, Shahid wrote about how deeply Sunny lives in him, saying he is him and he is him. He drew a parallel between their journeys — both starting as a kid off the Mumbai streets with a fire in the heart to tell the world, “I am an artist.”

Created by Raj & DK, Farzi is a black comedy crime thriller that follows Sunny, a disillusioned artist who turns to counterfeiting with his friend Firoz (Bhuvan Arora) to save his grandfather’s struggling printing press. The first season, which premiered on Prime Video in February 2023, also starred Vijay Sethupathi as officer Michael Vedanayagam, Kay Kay Menon as Mansoor Dalal and Raashii Khanna as Megha.

The second season was officially announced in February 2026 with a “Round 2 in progress” teaser. Trade reports suggest the series is eyeing a late 2026 or early 2027 release, though no official date has been confirmed. A Variety India exclusive recently revealed that Yukti Thareja joins the new season as the leading lady.

With the shoot complete, Farzi 2 now heads into post-production — and Sunny’s counterfeiting empire is one step closer to its return.
