Aadi Rudrra Title and First Look Out: Aadi Saikumar’s Divine Mystery Thriller Unveiled on Dussehra

Aadi Saikumar’s ambitious multilingual project with director Navarrasan officially has a name. Marking the festive occasion of Dussehra, the makers unveiled the film’s title — Aadi Rudrra — along with an evocative first-look poster that offers a glimpse into its atmospheric, mythological canvas.

Billed as a grand divine mystery thriller, Aadi Rudrra is set against a retro backdrop spanning 1960 to 1990, with story and screenplay penned by Navarrasan himself. The first-look poster presents a transformed Aadi Saikumar — sporting battle gashes across his back and clad in a traditional maroon dhoti, holding a consecrated brass trishula (trident) while standing inside a flaming mystical mandala. Facing him is a colossal, mountain-sized manifestation of Lord Shiva/Rudra with a glowing third eye, crescent moon and multiple arms brandishing weapons amidst thunderous clouds. Around the clearing, a mob of villagers holding flaming torches and ceremonial cattle flank the terrain, with a riverbed in the foreground — signalling a narrative deeply rooted in folklore, sacred rituals and divine retribution.

The project marks the third production venture for Prashanth G Rudrappa under his Trishul Entertainments banner, following Dandupalya and the Golden Star Ganesh starrer Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi — and it is reportedly the most expensive film of Aadi Saikumar’s career. The actor, fresh off the blockbuster success of Shambhala, is undergoing a massive physical transformation for the role, with the script calling for a bulky avatar of the protagonist.

The technical crew is headlined by acclaimed music director B Ajaneesh Loknath — of Kantara and Vikrant Rona fame — who will compose both the soundtrack and the original score. Cinematography is handled by AJ Shetty, with publicity designs crafted by Kaani Studio. The makers had earlier teased the reveal with an announcement poster featuring a king cobra coiled around Lord Shiva’s trident against a mist-laden forest, setting a haunting tone that the title poster now expands into a full mythological vision.

Aadi Rudrra is slated for a simultaneous release in five languages — Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. Shooting is scheduled to commence in January, with details on the female lead and the extended ensemble cast expected to be revealed soon.
