Tiger Shroff Firing Case: All Three Accused Arrested in Kota While Fleeing on Pune-Jaipur Express
In a swift breakthrough in the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, the Kota City Police on Monday morning arrested all three accused, intercepting them on the Pune-Jaipur Express as they attempted to flee Mumbai.
Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam told ANI that the police received a tip around 9:45 am on Monday and, within 15 minutes, cordoned off exit points and platforms and combed the entire train. The three suspects — Rehan alias Sukka from Sonipat, Haryana; Hritik Kurmi alias Roshan from Begusarai, Bihar, who had been living in Mumbai for the past few years; and a minor — were detained and will be handed over to the Mumbai Police, which has sent a team to Kota.
Preliminary questioning revealed the trio’s plan: travel to Delhi by train, then cross the border into Nepal. One of the accused works as a Rapido rider in Mumbai, while the other two work as labourers in Sonipat. Police said one of the accused had allegedly been in contact with Anil Pandit. Media reports say investigators are examining a suspected link to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which allegedly claimed responsibility in an unverified social media post — a claim under probe as part of the wider investigation.
The firing took place around 7 pm on Sunday, October 18, as Tiger was leaving a football club near Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu. Assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at his car. The actor escaped direct gunshot injuries — Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who visited him on Sunday night, said Tiger sustained cuts on his left hand from gunpowder and glass fragments — while his driver took a bullet to his left arm and an autorickshaw driver nearby was also hurt. Both were reported stable.
Crime Branch sources said the shooters had allegedly tracked the actor’s movements — he visits the Juhu football ground on Sundays — and fled along SV Road through Vile Parle and Andheri after abandoning their motorcycle near Andheri West station.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said on Monday that the accused were identified and arrests would follow, assuring strict action against those threatening public figures. Security was also tightened outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra following the incident. The case is registered under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act, with 15 Mumbai Police teams working the investigation.
