During the ongoing promotions of Udta Teer, the actress recreated her mother Amrita Singh’s iconic look from the classic television series Waaris (1988) — and the resemblance had fans doing a double take. Sara has often spoken about how closely she takes after her mother, and this deliberate nod to Amrita’s most memorable screen avatar sent social media into a meltdown, with fans calling the mother-daughter similarity ‘uncanny.’

The timing is no coincidence — Sara and co-star Ayushmann Khurrana are in full promotional mode for Udta Teer, which was recently postponed from October 9 to October 23 to avoid a clash with Drishyam: The Conclusion’s historic run. The Dharma Productions–Sikhya Entertainment spy comedy, directed by debutant Akash A Kaushik, is now eyeing a clean pre-Diwali window.
