Udta Teer Postponed: Ayushmann Khurrana–Sara Ali Khan Film Moves to October 23 to Dodge Drishyam 3
Udta Teer will not arrive this Friday. The makers have officially postponed the Ayushmann Khurrana–Sara Ali Khan spy comedy from October 9 to October 23, making a ‘smart and sensible theatrical call’ for a cleaner release window.
The reason is no secret: Drishyam: The Conclusion is on a historic run, and multiplex chains are expected to retain heavy screens for the Ajay Devgn-starrer through its second weekend. Releasing on October 9 would have squeezed Udta Teer’s prime shows. October 16 is also crowded, with Prahaar and Nayyi Navelli arriving — so October 23 gives the film a relatively free pre-Diwali runway.
This is the film’s second postponement — it was originally slated for September 11. Meanwhile, promotions are in full swing: Ayushmann and Sara kicked off the campaign in Chandigarh this week ahead of release. Directed by debutant Akash A Kaushik and produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, the film stars Ayushmann as a Pakistani spy who loses his memory on Indian soil.
(Note: we earlier reported an October 9 release — the date has since been officially revised to October 23.)
