Drishyam: The Conclusion Roars Past ₹174 Crore in Opening Weekend — Ajay Devgn’s Biggest Ever

Vijay Salgaonkar is back — and this time, the box office surrendered without a fight. Drishyam: The Conclusion, the third and final chapter of the beloved thriller franchise, has stormed past ₹174 crore nett in India in its opening weekend, registering the biggest three-day opening of Ajay Devgn’s career by a massive distance.

Released on October 2, 2026, timed with the Gandhi Jayanti holiday, the film opened to a thunderous ₹62 crore on Friday — the second-highest opening day of 2026 for a Hindi film, behind only Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Saturday held strong at around ₹52–53.5 crore, before Sunday bounced back to roughly ₹60–61 crore, taking the weekend total to approximately ₹174 crore nett in India, as per trade trackers including Bollywood Hungama (industry tracker Sacnilk pegs it marginally higher at ₹176.5 crore).

Records rewritten

The numbers put Devgn’s own history in perspective. His previous biggest opening weekend was Singham Again at ₹125 crore — The Conclusion has beaten it by nearly ₹50 crore. The leap from Drishyam 2 is even more staggering: the 2022 sequel opened to ₹64.14 crore, meaning the third film collected more than 2.7 times that figure in the same three-day window. In fact, it crossed Drishyam 2‘s entire opening weekend in just two days.

Here’s another jaw-dropper: the original Drishyam (2015) ended its full theatrical run at ₹67.13 crore lifetime. The conclusion has earned 2.6 times that amount in three days.

A worldwide storm

Overseas, the film pulled in $6.66 million across the weekend (about ₹58–60 crore), pushing the worldwide gross to roughly ₹270–272 crore in three days, per Box Office Worldwide. BookMyShow reported 34.93 lakh tickets sold over the weekend — the fifth-highest first-weekend figure ever for a Bollywood title on the platform, trailing only Dhurandhar 2, Jawan, Animal and Stree 2.

The frenzy was visible on the ground too: theatres added post-midnight shows before release, and exhibitors were asked to match the premium pricing of Spider-Man and Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

The final chapter

Directed by Abhishek Pathak — who took over the franchise with Drishyam 2 — the film brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav, with Jaideep Ahlawat joining as a formidable new adversary and Prakash Raj in a key role. Notably, the makers have confirmed this Hindi installment charts an entirely new story with a fresh screenplay, distinct from the Malayalam original.

Presented by Star Studio18 and produced by Panorama Studios, Drishyam: The Conclusion now chases the ₹240.54 crore lifetime benchmark of Drishyam 2 — a target that, at this pace, looks like a formality. The question is no longer whether it will be a blockbuster, but how high the final number goes.
