Jailer has become the third highest-grossing film in the history of Kollywood, surpassing Vikram yesterday. The movie starring Rajinikanth has earned Rs. 306 crores in India and Rs. 162 crores (USD 19.48 million) internationally, resulting in a total worldwide earning of Rs. 468 crores. However, its position at the third spot will be temporary as it is expected to surpass the Rs. 500 crores milestone on Sunday and move up to the second spot.

Here is the state wise breakup as reported by Filmy Track.

Jailer is expected to surpass Rs. 600 crores worldwide, although it will still be second to 2.0, the highest-earning Kollywood film to date. This achievement is largely due to the Hindi dubbed version. However, Jailer will claim the title of the highest-grossing Tamil language film ever, surpassing the current record held by Ponniyin Selvan 1.

Here are the top ten highest-grossing Tamil Cinema films worldwide and their respective earnings:

  1. 2.0: Rs. 665 crores
