Over the past four days, more than 2 crore million people flocked to cinema theatres, resulting in an impressive gross collection of over Rs 400 crore. This extraordinary weekend has solidified its place among the greatest weekends in the history of the Indian Box Office, proving that the theatrical business is alive and thriving!

The box office is buzzing with excitement as we approach Independence Day! Movies like “Jailer,” “Gadar 2,” “OMG 2,” “Bholaa Shankar,” “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” and “Oppenheimer” have collectively raked in an impressive Rs 403 crore across the country. During the four-day period from August 10 to August 13, these movies attracted a whopping 2 crore Indian moviegoers to the cinema halls. Leading the pack is the sensational film “Jailer,” starring Rajinikanth, which has grossed an astounding Rs 162 crore nationwide. This Nelson Dilipkumar-directed masterpiece has already sold approximately 93 lakh tickets during its four-day run, and it’s set to achieve even greater success on August 15!

When Jailer in the 4-day run amassed a gross 162 crore in the domestic market, Sunny Deol’s Gadar gave it tough competition, even though it only had a 3-day weekend. Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar achieved an impressive All India Gross of around Rs 152 crore. Early estimates suggest that Gadar 2 attracted around 70 lakh viewers over the weekend, and it is expected to continue its success during the upcoming holiday week. By the end of the week, Gadar 2 will claim the top spot at the Indian Box Office, surpassing Jailer.

OMG 2 is killing it at the box office with Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi leading the way in this social dramedy. They managed to sell a whopping 20 lakh tickets over the weekend, raking in a mind-blowing Rs 47 crore in India alone!
