Dream Girl 2 Plot:
Raaj Shaandilyaa, the director and co-writer of Dream Girl 2, takes the reins once again for this sequel and refresh of the first. The familiar setting, characters, and jokes are all dialed up to the max. Karam (Ayushman Khurrana), the agile young man from Mathura with a knack for impersonations, is back, living with his father burdened with debt, just like before. This time, Karam is head over heels for Pari, played by Ananya Panday, but he must quickly improve his financial situation to win her hand in marriage. Once again, he transforms into ‘Pooja,’ going beyond just a seductive voice on the phone and fully embodying her character. Shaandilyaa skillfully handles the comedic exploration of gender roles, with the camera capturing Karam’s mesmerizing movements and a recurring joke involving two oranges stuffed in his bra.

Dream Girl 2, What is Good ?
The story by Naresh Kathooria and Raaj Shaandilyaa is straightforward and has all the elements of a successful mainstream movie. The screenplay by Naresh Kathooria and Raaj Shaandilyaa is engaging. Certain moments are extremely humorous and cleverly crafted. The dialogues by Raaj Shaandilyaa are uproarious and exceptionally clever. The witty one-liners are a standout feature of the film.
Raaj Shaandilyaa’s direction deserves praise as he brings a very mainstream approach to the film. He adds funny and even eccentric characters, which is exactly what one anticipates in a comedic adventure. He presents the storyline clearly and ensures that there are plenty of entertaining and wild moments happening throughout the film.
Dream Girl 2, What is not Good?
However, the narrative appears to be rushed. The inclusion of songs like ‘Naiyo Lagda’ and ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ feels forced. Additionally, the climax speech falls flat. It is confusing to witness Karam making Pari feel guilty when he was the one who lied about the source of the money. There are few more scenes, mostly in the second half which does not add humor or take the story forward.
Dream Girl 2 Star Cast Performances:
Ayushmann Khurrana delivers a strong performance in the movie. He portrays Pooja with sensuality and impresses with his drag act. Ananya Panday is decent in her role, but her screen time is limited. Annu Kapoor is nice, and Paresh Rawal leaves a lasting impression. Rajpal Yadav as Shaukiya brings the laughs. Manjot Singh is reliable in his performance. Manoj Joshi’s acting is okay. Vijay Raaz could have been funnier. Abhishek Banerjee does a fair job. Anusha Mishra has very little presence in the film. Asrani as Dadaji is memorable. Seema Pahwa as Jumani performs quite well. Sudesh Lehri as Baby Baba is forgettable, and it’s unclear why he was included. Ranjan Raj as Tiger Pandey pleasantly surprises in the movie. Sapna Sand brings laughter as the school principal.
Dream Girl 2 Final Verdict
Dream Girl 2 succeeds primarily because of the jokes and witty remarks in the first half. While the element of novelty does elicit laughter in some cases, there is not enough situational humour in the second half to maintain the level of entertainment. The movie heavily relies on the jokes, which become less amusing towards the end, and the storyline is quite weak. Overall, Dream Girl 2 is worth watching once for its clever punch lines, quirky characters, Ayushmann Khurrana’s performance, and the talented cast of comedians. In terms of box office performance, the film will benefit from its franchise value, which should result in a respectable number of ticket sales.
