Prem Keetanu Review Roundup — Veer Pahariya’s Rom-Com Divides Critics
Veer Pahariya’s second outing, Prem Keetanu, has divided critics since its October 2 release. The coming-of-age rom-com from Apoorv Singh Karki (Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai) has drawn ratings ranging from 2 to 4 stars.
The believers: The Freedom Press went 4/5, calling it a refreshing take on young love and growing up, praising Pahariya’s confident, likeable turn as the carefree Vishal and debutant Aafiya Sayed’s warmth as Suhani. The Daily Jagran gave 3.5/5 for its heartwarming take on love, friendship and family. Filmfare rated it 3/5, noting Karki doesn’t merely reproduce the Malayalam hit Premalu in Hindi — he gives it his own spin, and Pahariya takes a genuine risk playing a lower-middle-class courier-juggling romantic.
The doubters: INVC News gave 2/5, arguing the film has the ingredients but can’t find the spark — uneven chemistry, predictable beats and comedy that never quite lands.
The middle ground most critics share: it’s an easy, familiar watch about that complicated phase when love arrives and adulthood follows close behind — elevated by its young cast, limited by its stretched screenplay.
