Crakk, which stars Vidyut Jammwal, Amy Jackson, Arjun Rampal, and Nora Fatehi, is off to a respectable start for a Vidyut Jammwal film, but the exorbitant expenses are a hindrance.

Aditya Datt directorial, Crakk, had a strong opening day at the box office in India, grossing approximately Rs 4 crores. The 4 Cr is considered good for the film as the dull advances and almost no hype set the expectations for the opening day collections to not go beyond 2.5 crores The extreme-action drama managed to open to this good surprising number. Although Crakk’s collections are not as high as earlier expected when the teaser and then trailer were launched, and also considering its higher budget, they are still respectable considering it is a Vidyut Jammwal film. He is yet to open big on the box office. Despite his great action packed choices, one or the other thing remains missing from his films.

Crakk made excellent use of Cinema Lovers Day. The Vidyut Jammwal action movie attracted nearly 4.5 lakh people to theaters with ticket prices limited to Rs 99. If the film’s box office numbers increase over the weekend, it could result in a solid weekend total. Though It will be challenging to find significant growth due to the ticket prices returning to normal and many potential weekend moviegoers having already seen the film on the first day because of the attractive deal.

Crakk’s critics and word of mouth reports are average, which is acceptable for a film with action and scale. However, it faces tough competition from Article 370, which has gained strong momentum. It will be intriguing to observe if Crakk manages to gross at least around Rs 70 crores worldwide to justify its cost. Lets wait and watch how it performs in the upcoming days.

Update: Based on the first five days collection it can be said that the film Crakk nosedived badly. For a film of Action Genre and with such a good budget of around ₹ 70 Cr, this is very poor collection. The film failed to make a mark on the box office.
